And I said to myself: \u2018Step back! Have faith in these people and this setting.\u2019 So I chose to make the movie in the most lighthearted and simple way. I think it\u2019s probably the movie I made with the most calmness, applying in a very specific and literal way my motto, that we should live with a sense of\u00a0<em>joie de vivre<\/em>,&#8221; the director Luca Guadagnino tells\u00a0<em>Variety<\/em>\u00a0about the film based on the 2007 novel by Andr\u00e9 Aciman.
